Construction around Solite Park and American Tobacco Trail

Fayetteville Road around Solite Park is undergoing construction to widen the road. This project created a four-way intersection at Barbee and Fayetteville Roads with one side of this intersection being a new entrance into Solite Park. Weather permitting, this project is expected to be completed during spring 2021.

The park remains open to the public during construction.

The sand volleyball courts are currently unavailable but will be rebuilt as part of the project.

American Tobacco Trail (ATT) Impacts

  • The ATT is currently being detoured. There will be intermittent trail detours until the project is complete.
  • The Riddle Road crossing will require a detour when the new crossing is installed. This detour is scheduled to begin May 24, 2021.
  • The crossing to Belgreen from Solite Park will happen after pedestrian heads are installed.
  • The crossing at MLK will be shifted until the storm drainage work at the intersection is complete.
