Residents are invited to take a survey to provide feedback on replacing playground equipment at Wrightwood Park. This is the first in a series of community engagement activities for residents to provide their input. Amid COVID-19 and the safer-at-home guidelines, it was not possible to engage in person, but we would like to receive comments from as many residents as possible.
The current equipment was installed in the late 1990s and though still safe to use is coming to the end of its useful life. This survey is designed to gather information about what type of playground residents want and what type of equipment they are interested in having in the park. The basic footprint of the current playground will remain.
Once the survey closes on December 11, the information will be sent to multiple playground manufacturers so they can submit designs for consideration by the residents. There will be two additional community surveys for the park. The next one will be to choose from the submitted designs and once the design is chosen we will return to the community to select the color for the equipment.
The current equipment will remain until construction begins unless it is deemed unsafe during our regular inspections. Construction is anticipated to start during July or August of next year.
