Calling all of Durham's ghosts and ghouls! DPR will host a fall event for all ages including carnival games, a costume parade, hay ride, and for those who love a fright, a haunted trail!

We will be collecting canned goods to donate to a local food pantry. Please consider bringing a can or two!

This is a free drop-in program for all ages!

This area is perfect for the younger crowd. Enjoy playing fall themed games and watching a puppet show!

We want to see your festive, cute, spooky, or silly attire. Kids won’t want to miss the costume parade to show off their outfits and strut their stuff. Costumes aren’t just for kids - everyone is encouraged to get in the dress-up spirit!

Are you ready for a scare?? The haunted trail will not disappoint. This super-scary experience is recommended for ages 13 and up.

We’ve added a new feature this year – a hay ride! Hop on and take a trip through the park. Enjoy the natural sites along with some seasonal displays.

We’re so excited to have Alycat Photo & Video Services join us. You can help us Scare Away Hunger by bringing a food donation, and in exchange receive a festive professional photo. Food donations will be given to The Foodbank of Central and Eastern NC. Check out her work at www.alycatphotos.com.

Parking will be available at Edison Johnson Recreation Center and the Museum of Life and Science overflow parking lot. From Edison Johnson, the event is a short 5-minute walk down the trail. There will be plenty of signs to guide you, and you’ll get a sneak peek of the haunted trail as you make your way to Rock Quarry Park. A shuttle will also run to and from the Museum of Life and Science parking lot.
