Looking for something fun to do after school? We've got you covered. Join us for an afternoon of activities! From basketball and painting to park clean-ups and job skills training, we have a wide variety of things for you and your friends to enjoy. 

Who: All teens, ages 13 to 18 years old

What: Free, after-school, drop-in programming and activities 

When: Every Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

November 2018 Special Events

We will be taking My Durham participants to Urban Community Agrinomics (UCAN) on Saturday, November 10, 2018. We will be departing from the Durham Teen Center at Lyon Park at 8:30 a.m. and returning back to the site at 11:30 p.m. Make sure to fill out this Field Trip Permission Slip before we leave. Join us for the Release Party and Open House at The Durham Teen Center at Lyon Park on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Explore the brand new DPR Teen Center and see what our teens have been working on during the Digital Brilliance Hour program. We will also see photography from the Lyon Park Class participants. Light refreshments will be provided.

What is the "My Durham" program?
My Durham is a free, membership based, after-school program open to young adults between the ages of 13 and 18 years old.

What times are the programs offered?
Every Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

We have six community centers that are offering My Durham young adult programming, including:

Do I have to come every week and stay for all of the programs?
Not at all! You and your friends are welcome to come and go as you please. Just make sure to check in at the front desk!

What types of programs and activities are offered?
We've got everything you can think of and more! From sports like basketball, kickball and hockey to job prep classes to crafts and dance lessons. There's something for everyone to enjoy!

How can I sign up for a membership?
It's fast and easy - go online! Visit My Durham Membership to sign up. Don't have time to fill out an application online? Swing by the front desk before attending a program and they'll take care of you.

Are there volunteer and job opportunities?
Several of our programs include Park Cleanups and Event Setups - we are happy to sign off on volunteer hours if you participate. View open and available jobs.
