Activity Descriptions

  • Tech Time: Teens will have the opportunity to utilize the technology in the building. Teens can choose to use the computer lab or game systems. In order to maintain social distancing, whatever activity the teen chooses will be their activity for the time allotted.
  • Adulting 101: Prepare yourself for the real world with the real life simulation activities. Are you ready for that type of responsibility?
  • Chef it Up: Who does not like to eat? Come learn how to make easy meals at home instead of going to the fast food joint up the street!
  • News You Can Use: Let’s discuss current events and the latest news that affects you!
  • Work it Out: Let’s get that body moving with speed drills and exercise. Let’s get in shape!
  • Express Yourself: Pick a topic, lead a discussion, do an art activity. Use this safe space to express yourself!

Program Modifications

My Durham will be following all guidelines produced by our department, local and state health department, and our national recommendations from the CDC.

Health screening is required. Temperature checks will be done upon entry. Entry will be denied to any participant who exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 or a temperature at or above 100.4. Participants will be asked to quarantine for 14 days before they will be allowed to return.

My Durham will operate on a modified drop-in format. Teens will have the opportunity to sign up for either the morning or afternoon session in weekly intervals. The participants may only attend one session at each of the respective sites. Preregistration will be required. Registration can be done the same day, if space allows, before the program starts.

For more information about the program, call the DPR office at 919-560-4355 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., beginning July 20, for more details or registration assistance.
