Boone, North Carolina based songwriter and musician, Shay Martin Lovette, has been honing his craft on tour in support of his latest album Swift Drifter since its release in the summer of 2018. His heartfelt folk-rock songs are beginning to make waves across the southeast and beyond and even in Europe where the Berlin, Germany based new folk music curator and playlister, Songpickr selected Swift Drifter as one of his top albums of 2018. Public radio powerhouse, WNCW also ranked Swift Drifter in their top 100 albums of 2018 as voted by their listeners. Lovette has performed at nationally renowned festivals like Merlefest and Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion in the past and has plans to begin recording a new album in 2019.
Breaking Even, also known as the House Band of the Rock ‘N Roll High School, is a 7-piece rock cover band that formed in May of 2016. They play everything from classic rock favorites to metal to 90's alternative rock. They've played at numerous venues and festivals over the years, including the Peak City Pig Fest in Apex and the Freedom Balloon Festival in Fuquay-Varina. These elite students are considered the top musicians in the school. They are managed by Jill Pullen, a graduate of Hollywood’s top music school, the Musician’s Institute.
DL Zene, known as Dottie, is a singer, songwriter and guitar instrumentalist from Durham, NC. Shursoundz was created in 2012 under the leadership of Musical Director Rick Trice. The band is made up a group of profound talented musicians. Nile, DJ, Paco, Antwon and Rick’s individual creativity collectively creates a sound that captivates the hearts of people of all ages. The musicians in Shursoundz have had the opportunity to play with artist such as Marcus Anderson, Jason Nelson, Tasha Cobb-Leonard, T.I. and so many more. This band has not only formed a work relationship but also a brotherhood, which is a bond that is not easily broken. Shurzoundz guarantees to create the groove to make you move!
The Bulltown Strutters are a Durham-based parade band, inspired by the Second Line street band tradition of New Orleans. They build camaraderie with fun songs and dance while inspiring onlookers to join the revelry.
